I heard about Ma’am April through Claire, a friend from Canada, who happened to be one of Ma’am April’s previous students (now a USRN too)
I contacted Ma’am April on 18 October 2022 and raised my concerns about my NCLEX timeline. She then asked me to join her Zoom meeting sessions, however, because I was then in the US I can not send my payment right away, but she said it was okay just to attend the meeting.
At first, I was unsure if I will attend kasi nga hindi pa ako bayad but she kept on insisting I join the meeting, I think I had attended 3 sessions perhaps until my husband finally found time to deposit my review fee to Ma’am April’s account. You see how big is her 🫶🏻? She is not only for the money, but she is also more willing to help without hesitation, and I admire her for that!
Upon payment, I received the recorded videos of Ma’am April’s lectures. I watched it all but focused more on the 5-Day TEST TAKING STRATEGIES which I believe gave me hints on how to answer NCLEX questions.
From then on, I participated in the discussion hence boosting my self-confidence and eventually developing the power of critical thinking in me that equipped me to face my NCLEX battle.
Ma’am April played an important role during my NCLEX preparation, she was one of the angels that God sent me when I was crying for help and guidance, and I am very grateful that in everything I prayed for, God provided.
To sum up, I attended 7 live zoom meeting lectures from October 19- November 28, 2022, and took advantage of the one-on-one consultation with Ma’am April exactly seven days before my exam. She gave me tips on how to analyze the questions and emphasized that NCLEX is not a race so you should have to take your time, these shared tips were kept in practice until the big day.
Here comes December 05, 2022, in Las Vegas, I took my NCLEX exam, and signs were shown to me by the Lord, I was then very positive that it was the perfect day that the Lord has made for me to face my NCLEX exam with confidence and success. After 2 hours did the PVT trick and it showed a good po up!
2 days after, on 07 December 2022 my flight back to the Philippines (got a quick result from Pearson Vue- PASS!) with my USRN title as my pasalubong to my family. Thank God I ended my NCLEX journey with great success!
Tips to future USRNs
1. Your concept is your foundation, nurture your brain with NCLEX topics every day.
2. Answer as many Qbanks as you can- make sure to read carefully and analyze each question before answering it but do not overanalyze. Focus on the rationales.
3. Master Ma’am April’s TTS- this will develop your critical thinking abilities/skills.
4. Exercise at least 15” a day, eat a well-balanced diet, have enough sleep, huwag masyado mgpuyat, your brain needs to rest too! Keep hydrated!
5. Have time to relax, pamper yourselves sometimes, go out with friends or family. You might need a break as well.
6. Believe in yourself! If others can so do you!
7. Above all, put your trust in the Lord. Be thankful for everything. For everything will be in its proper places at the right time. We have our own timeline and only God knows when it will be. Always give your best shot in everything that you do, and surrender your plans.
Good luck and May the good Lord shower His blessings unto us all!
